After last year’s trip to the Bahamas, we were concerned about our AIS range. We were being picked up at 1 mile by tankers and cruise ships on night passages. I spoke with the knowledgeable staff at GAM Electronics; they set me up with one of their mini AIS antennas, a connector, cable, and fittings. We then watched their video on soldering and completed the project ourselves. On our crossing to the Bahamas this year, we were picked up 10 miles out, a safe feeling at night in a sailboat. Thank you very much to GAM for excellent service and product.
